Hello, my name is Susan, and I LOVE
travel!!
I currently live in Tennessee. I was born & raised in California and lived there for 42 years before moving to Tennessee in 2006. I am
married to John (IT geeky guy) going on 19 years now. We have one daughter Rebecca (aka Becca, Beckster, Eck, Princess Beck-Beck) who just finished her
freshman year at Western Kentucky University (in the Honors College program). We currently have 3 cats ... Portnoy (18 years old), Kliban (12 years old),
Purrsephene (approx 2 years old). Our past cats have been named Hodge Podge, Blondie and Nermal.
We were
moved to Tennesse by my husband's company in the summer of 2006, just as the housing marketing in So.California started to crack. My husband is an IT
security geek kind of guy, and I am a travel consultant (aka Escape Artist). Prior to moving to Tennessee, and prior to my jump into travel (in 2004) I worked
for a public utility in So.California for 23 years (12 years in the customer service call center, and then as a business analyst in different departments). Now
that we're in Tennessee we LOVE it (ok, I can live without the tornados, but the California earthquakes weren't that great either). And I definitely do
NOT miss the California traffic!!!
While we lived in California so close to Disneyland, we were avid Disney pin traders. And it's because of our pin trading that we went on
our first cruise ... a 4 night "pin cruise" on the Disney Wonder in Fall 2003. We then did another 4 night pin cruise in Fall 2004, followed by a 14
night Panama Canal transit on the Disney Magic in Summer 2005. BTW, I have a lot of Disney pins for sale if anyone is interested.... Since then we've cruised as a
family on NCL (Western Caribbean) and RCCL (Northbound Alaska). I have also cruised Carnival, Princess and
Celebrity.
Non-cruise-wise our daughter has been to more countries than
either me or my husband, mostly because of a Contiki Vacations tour we sent her on in July 2008 (high school graduation gift). So we have some catching up to
do....... John has been to France, Mexico and Japan via business trips.
I got my Bachelor Degree in Political Science but
have yet to realize my dream of working in DC (other than two internships I did, one with a US Senator and one with a House Representative). Oh well. Plans change.
